Rachael completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS. During her time at Mississippi State, Rachael graduated Summa Cum Laude and was a four year letter-winner for the Bulldog’s softball team. She then completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, NC. She completed the majority of her clinical training at Duke Sports Sciences Institute in Durham, NC. Rachael joined the SSOR team in 2017 and is eager to serve the Kansas City community. Rachael is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the Kansas Physical Therapy Association, and the APTA Sports and Orthopedic Sections. She enjoys treating many different post-operative conditions, athletes across the lifespan and various orthopedic conditions. She has a passion for developing individual treatment plans and exercise programs for each patient that are creative and evidence-based.
Rachael is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a USA Weightlifting Level I Sports Performance Coach and a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. She is a native of Shawnee, Kansas and is excited to serve the community in which she grew up. She developed a love for athletics at a young age stemming from keeping up with her two brothers and her father, who is a former outfielder for the Kansas City Royals. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing sports and reading. Rachael has also competed in nationally in Olympic Weightlifting and enjoys training and coaching others in the sport.
